Our Mission

The Cambridge Society is an initiative of the British Global Talent Council (BGTC) — a community built to be a distinctive environment for creative thinking, sustainable development, new perspectives and positive change.

Locally, we bring that ethos to Cambridge: a hub for communication and creativity, work and collaboration, development and the exchange of knowledge. We connect founders, scientists, technologists, investors and culture-makers across the city's world-leading ecosystem — and surface the events, people and opportunities that move it forward.

BGTC supports talented people through PR and visibility, mentorship, cross-disciplinary collaboration, charitable activity and community support — including guidance for those pursuing the UK Global Talent Visa. Learn more at bgtc.uk.

Our Core Principles

We share the values of the British Global Talent Council, the community behind us.

Passionarity

An inner drive to create, contribute and push boundaries — the energy that turns ideas into action.

Vigour

The resilience and momentum to see ambitious projects through, in research, enterprise and the arts alike.

Talent & Professionalism

Excellence and craft across every discipline, from science and technology to culture and investment.

The Strength of Community

We grow together — through collaboration, mentorship and mutual support across borders and fields.

How BGTC is Organised

The Cambridge Society operates within the wider British Global Talent Council, which brings people together through three connected pillars.

BGTC Club

The community itself — a network of members and friends across the arts, sciences, technology, business and investment who meet, collaborate and support one another.

The Committee (BGTC Core)

The organising body that curates programmes, partnerships and initiatives, and stewards the community's direction and standards.

BGTC Voice

The community's online magazine, sharing the stories, ideas and achievements of talented people across the network.

Five Worlds We Connect

Our events and community span five interest areas — the same worlds that make up the Cambridge ecosystem.

Business & Innovation

Founders, start-ups and the people building Cambridge's next generation of companies.

Science & Achievements

Research, discovery and the scientific breakthroughs the region is known for.

Arts & Culture

The creative life of the city — from film and music to literature and visual art.

Technology & IT

Deep tech, software and the engineers shaping Silicon Fen.

Venture & Investment

Investors, angels and the capital that turns Cambridge ideas into ventures.
